American pop star Katy Perry has opened up about her high-profile romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Perry has described him as her 'true love' and revealed how she deliberately manifested the relationship with the help of her therapist.

Speaking candidly in a recent interview, the 41-year-old singer reflected on how her relationship with the politician blossomed following a difficult personal period in the summer of 2025.

Over a year into their romance, Perry expressed deep gratitude for Trudeau, characterising him as the 'missing puzzle piece' in her life.

Manifesting 'Epic' Love

The journey to their romance began during a challenging emotional chapter. On 3 July 2025, Perry and her former fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom—with whom she shares six-year-old daughter Daisy Dove—publicly announced their separation.

At the time, the 'Firework' hitmaker was in Australia for her Lifetimes Tour.

'It was probably the hardest time,' Perry recalled. 'My friends were all hanging out back home. I was crying and just feeling far away. But then my angels went to work. They really showed up.'

Seeking clarity and healing, Perry worked alongside her therapist to define what she truly desired in her personal life.

She explained that whilst every past relationship served as a valuable teacher, she felt ready to pursue a deeper, long-term connection.

'I always wanted this epic legendary love, and I was talking to my therapist about it: Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece—then it showed up,' she revealed.

By August of last year, Perry took a tangible step toward her goals by drafting a written list of manifestations. The final item on the list was simple yet clear.

Reading the final entry aloud, she noted: 'No. 10 just says, 'True Love.' And I think that's where we're at.'

From Tour Dates to Genuine Alignment

The pair first connected shortly after Perry's split from Bloom. They were spotted together on a date in Montreal on 28 July 2025, just two days before her scheduled concert in the city.

'I got to meet Justin on tour, and then things shifted,' Perry explained.

From those early encounters, the connection grew steadily as the two spent quality time together over the following months.

Trudeau has since proven to be a constant presence during her musical commitments. Throughout the summer, the former prime minister attended 10 out of 20 stops on her tour, enthusiastically singing along from the audience.

The former Canadian Prime Minister has also been an active presence on Perry's social media, and fans were quick to notice.

'He knows the words, he's supportive, and he's in awe; it's super healing,' Perry remarked, praising his dedication. 'He is really heart-centred, and I think that we align in that way. I'm so grateful.'

Reflecting on her previous long-term relationship, Perry noted that she holds no regrets about her nine years with Bloom, acknowledging that the experience was essential for her personal development before welcoming this new chapter.

With Trudeau firmly by her side, the singer expressed complete confidence in their shared future, celebrating a partnership that turned a therapist's exercise into a reality.
